Dr. Caroline "Casey" Magargle Owner, DVM

Dr. Casey Magargle

Dr. Caroline "Casey" Magargle (formerly Dr. McCarty) is known among her friends and patients as simply Dr. Casey. Her love of animals started at a young age and she has worked in the veterinary field in Arizona for more than 15 years. Dr. Casey attended Arizona State University and graduated summa cum laude in 1998- with both a pre-veterinary major and a microbiology minor.

She then was accepted to the esteemed Colorado State University and spent four joyous years in veterinary medical school. Her primary focus was small animal medicine- allowing her extra study time in canine and feline medicine. Next, she moved to Ventura, California to complete an intensive and competitive internship in small animal internal medicine, surgery and radiology at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group. This was a voluntary, year-long intensive training position to further her medical skills.

Finally, she moved home to Arizona to happily practice small animal veterinary medicine in the town of Scottsdale. She honed her skills at a very nice practice in south Scottsdale for more than four years before deciding to open her very own animal hospital, McDowell Mountain Animal Hospital.

Her family includes her handsome husband Todd, Callie and Wesley- her extra-furry kitties, and Tahiti (Tia for short)- her not-so-hairy Pit Bull mix. She also enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling (anyplace warm), movies, and wine-tasting. But most of all- she loves her job, providing medical care for the best patients in the world – your beloved pets!

Krystal Sobrino AAS, LVT, CVT, Hospital Manager

Krystal Sobrino

Krystal was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, which is where her passion for animals originated. Starting around age 5 she was rescuing garter snakes and black-capped chickadee eggs from the tractor as her dad mowed the lawn.  Krystal has a huge heart for all species and specializes in exotics.

She graduated Cum Laude from Baker College of Flint with an Associate’s of Applied Science specializing in Veterinary Technology.  She became a Licensed Veterinary Technician after passing the national and state examinations following graduation. After the devastation of hurricane Katrina affected Krystal’s immediate family in Chalmette, LA, she sold all of her possessions and embarked on a crusade to volunteer for the year in Chalmette and New Orleans.

Krystal moved to Arizona in October 2006 and passed the Arizona state examination to earn the title of Certified Veterinary Technician.  She met Anthony shortly after relocating and they were married March 29, 2008.  Krystal currently has 4 rescue pets:  Brazen, a black Siamese mix (who earned his name), George, an orange laid-back tom-cat, Israel, an Aussie/Queensland mix, and the newest addition is a Husky named Koda. Krystal’s interests include hiking/backpacking/camping, water-skiing, swimming, fishing, snowboarding and baking.
